Known roof surface
Use this when the figure already describes the actual sloped roof surfaces. The calculator does not add pitch area a second time.

See an architectural-shingle planning range without submitting a request. Keep the example or change an area and pitch you already know.
Free roof inspections. Clear repair and replacement options.
The starting example uses 2,000 square feet of roof surface and produces a $9,000 to $15,000 Oklahoma/OKC-area planning range. It assumes one existing layer, normal access, moderate roof complexity and usable decking.
Use the example as it stands if the size or pitch is unknown. The controls also accept a known roof footprint, which is different from total living space. The calculator converts that footprint using the entered pitch.

The tool shows a priced planning range when the calculated roof surface is 1,500 to 3,000 square feet. Outside that span, it shows the area and points you to a property-specific budget.
You can see the result here without submitting a request. The forms are available when you want to discuss the actual roof.
Keep the 2,000 sq. ft. example, or enter an area you already know. Roof footprint means the area covered, not total living space.
Keep the 6:12 example unless you already know the pitch. Pitch helps check material suitability.
Planning budget example
Planning example for 2,000 sq. ft. of actual roof surface, using architectural asphalt shingles. Ordinary tear-off is included.
Architectural-asphalt replacement planning range for one existing layer, normal access, moderate complexity and usable decking. Hidden damage, extra layers and separate trade work can change the project cost.
Discuss your roof projectPlanning example, not a project quote. Measured roof area and the actual scope determine the price.
Oklahoma / OKC area planning figures, checked October 27, 2026.
This Oklahoma / OKC area example uses $450-$750 per roofing square for architectural asphalt shingles. One roofing square is 100 square feet of actual roof surface, so the calculation uses $4.50-$7.50 per roof-surface square foot.
The example assumes one existing shingle layer with ordinary tear-off, normal access, moderate roof complexity and usable decking. Extra layers, damaged decking, structural changes, substantial flashing changes and mechanical, electrical, plumbing or gas work need a separate allowance.
Use known roof-surface area when available. Interior living space is a different measurement: garages, porches, overhangs and roof pitch affect roof area. The optional footprint calculation uses the stated pitch and does not measure an actual roof.
Published size examples cover 1,500-3,000 square feet of roof surface. This tool calculates within that span using the same unit range. Smaller jobs, larger roofs, steep or complex work and different materials need a property-specific budget. The result is a planning comparison, not a quote or an insurance settlement.
Use this when the figure already describes the actual sloped roof surfaces. The calculator does not add pitch area a second time.
This is the area covered by the roof when viewed from above, including the parts being roofed. The entered pitch adjusts that footprint for slope. A two-story home's total living area is not its roof footprint.
Keep the example. It is useful for understanding the scale of a replacement budget without guessing a measurement or walking onto the roof.
The model starts with usable decking. Wood damage, multiple existing layers, difficult access and a complicated roof change the work outside that simple example. A calculator cannot reveal those conditions from square footage.
That is also why a shingle estimate cannot price every roof system. Membrane roofs, metal profiles, insulation work and structural changes need their own project scope.

| Result or input | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Lower and upper figures | A planning band under one set of assumptions, not competing bids or a promised final price. |
| Architectural shingles | The only roofing material priced by this model. The tool does not silently substitute another system. |
| Pitch | Used to convert a footprint to surface area and check shingle suitability. A known surface-area figure is not increased again. |
| An input error | The tool needs a valid area and pitch before it can calculate. A roof outside the shingle model needs a separate discussion. |
| Roof surface outside 1,500 to 3,000 sq. ft. | The tool shows the area without extending the price range beyond its supported size band. The actual roof needs a property-specific budget. |
No. The calculator shows the planning range on the page. A form is there when you want to discuss a particular property.
Not automatically. Living space, roof footprint and sloped roof surface are different measurements. Keep the example if the available figure does not clearly describe the roof. There is no need to work out the roof geometry before contacting us.
This model has a documented architectural-asphalt planning basis. Pricing another material without its own evidence would give the appearance of a comparison without a dependable basis.
If it helps you decide to look further, a free roof inspection request starts with the property and what you noticed. The roofer determines the condition and work scope that a calculator cannot see.
The priced planning band covers 1,500 to 3,000 square feet of roof surface. Outside that span, the tool keeps the area calculation but does not extrapolate a roofing price. A property-specific scope is needed for the budget.

A leak, a damaged slope or a replacement decision each starts with the condition of the roof. Tell us what is happening and request a free inspection.
